Here are a few quick tips on how to heat set an inked project!

When inking on fabric, the ink must be heat set to become permanent. There are two ways to heat set the ink. Preferably let ink dry overnight or make sure the ink is completely dry before heat setting.

Option One

Using a heat press, set temperature to 305 degrees for 30 seconds. Set the finished inked project on the heat press mat or towel. Cover inked side with parchment paper.

Place heat press on top of the parchment paper, set timer for 30 seconds, and then remove heat press once the timer is finished.

Flip project over with parchment paper on the inked side and heat set again for 30 seconds and then remove the heat press.

Option Two

The  second way to heat set is using an iron.

Use the same procedure as using the heat press, but set the iron to NO steam and medium heat and heat set both sides for 3-4 minutes while constantly moving the iron so the fabric does not scorch.
